A DIVA DANCING TO HER OWN TUNE.

Kagiso Modiselle, popularly known as Divalash is a female DJ from South Africa’s capital city, Pretoria. Born and raised in Mabopane, then later moved to Soshanguve. A multi-talented young lady in her 20’s, a dancer, MC and actor who has been doing theatre performance for eight years. She’s a born entertainer and performer and has won multiple awards including the Best International Deejay of the year 2012/13 and first female to win the Red Square DJ knockouts.

The fast-growing star also had the honour of being a winner of Most Ambitious Entrepreneur at the Tshwane Hall of Fame, which she won twice, and many more other accolades. Divalash has had the opportunity to play along-side well-known local and international deejays such as Black Coffee, DJ Fresh, Vinny Da Vinci, Glen Lewis, DJ Zintle and many more. International deejays that she played alongside include Dj Black from Ghana and Aluku Rebel from London.

She admits that deejaying is indeed a challenging career, highly dominated by male counterparts. Her continued endurance sparked her passion for growth. All her hard work and perseverance helped her to earn deserved respect from her peers. It also put her on a spot where young upcoming artists from both genders see her as their icon.

With the pandemic we’re facing as a country and the world at large, Divalash had the opportunity to play for a remote/indoor party named Lockdown House Party which was hosted by Channel O, DSTV, this happened on the 25th of April. She has also just released an amapiano single titled Mjojo, available on all digital stores. Having toured countries like Mozambique, Swaziland, Uganda, and Botswana amongst others, she recently scooped herself an international DJ award in Ghana. This adds her to a list of few South African DJ’s to have won an award outside of the country.

She describes herself as very competitive and passionately driven. She aims to be one of the best, raising the feminine flag higher for her fans. #ladi_jaja
