Botshelo Motaung better known as Raybanza is a 23 year old from Ga-Rankuwa. He is the owner of Motaung Empire a company that owns a clothing brand called Real Basics and is also in the industry of photography and beauty under the same banner. Botshelo works closely with Olebogeng Komane known as Percy Kannon also from Ga-Rankuwa.
The company was started in 2019 after Motaung parted ways with his former associates BandzandRacks clothing brand. He says the reason he left was because he is young, vibrant and he wanted to achieve his dream of owning and empire. “I once slept on myself and my dreams, it won’t happen again.” He says.
Sales have dropped due to covid19 and many suppliers are closed. He hopes people from Ga-Rankuwa can give him more support as most of his clients are people from outside his community. “The photography studio and the barber business are the most affected by this pandemic as we had to close them so we plan to cover the loss by working extra hard to attract more clients for the clothing brand.” He said.
The company’s future plans are to have stores around the country, work on Real Basics property scheme and inspire young people to start their own businesses. #ladi_jaja?
