Innocent Masuku, Soweto raised & KZN born speaks openly about his drug addiction

Innocent Masuku, also known as Bobo from Yizo Yizo, was born in KwaZulu-Natal and grew up in Soweto. He started his reality TV career by appearing on Yizo Yizo. He later appeared on several other TV shows such as Tshisa and Zone 14. In March 2008 he guest starred in an episode of the SABC1 drama series Mtunzini.com in the role of Vusi, a taxi driver who is found murdered, in the episode entitled “The Taxi Driver (Part 1)” – Season 2, Episode 10.

Masuku has spoken about his addiction to drugs and how he first started taking them when he was only a teenager. In the podcast we’ll share below, he openly shares and talks about his painful story, while being funny and dropping wisdom bombs for those paying attention.

He said that he started using drugs for fun and then turned to them for comfort after having some tough times in life.

At least 15 percent of South Africans are said to have a drug problem, according to the country’s Central Drug Authority and drug users becoming younger and younger. The South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA) has urged citizens to fight substance abuse. Innocent “Bobo” Masuku has sought treatment for his drug addiction and says that he wants to inspire others with his story so that they can learn from it and avoid making the same mistakes he did.
