LIQUID ZONE OFFERS ACCESS TO THE MARKETS FOR ENTREPRENEURS.

On the 3rd March 2019 Liquid Zone a pub based in Block DD hosted the 7th edition of their monthly social markets called Loxion Flavour Market. Entrepreneurs came out in numbers from various communities in and around Pretoria to promote their brands and services. Entrepreneurs who attended the markets came in numbers most arriving after 2pm as regulars, supporters and the general public also came in numbers to support.

Loxion Flavour Market was established in 2018 with the objective of creating a platform and opportunities for entrepreneurs from all walks of life. DJ Kanu who is responsible for taking bookings and coordinating the event said “We provide a platform for local up and coming entrepreneurs to showcase their brands on the day including food stalls, apparel labels, tattoos and make-up artists. This is complemented by a stellar line up of local and popular DJs plus live bands”.
Events like this are a step in the right direction for entrepreneurs and places like Liquid Zone play a crucial role in fighting poverty and creating job opportunities by sharing their clientèle with entrepreneurs who showcase at the markets. What sets this markets apart from others is the sincerity in offering access to the market for entrepreneurs as Liquid Zone doesn’t charge any fee for the stalls during the Loxion Flavour Market.

Dj Kanu further elaborated “Stalls are free but we take a limited number of stalls. Stall holders need to bring their own table and gazebo. We always encourage them to brand their stalls including business cards & Pull up banners”, he said. Some of the entrepreneurs that came out to showcase their brands and services included Gladiator Sandals (Hand Made Gladiators), Miss K Products (a women fashion, hand bags and accessories online store), Hloga Brands (variety of peanuts), and Nala (Kitenge exported from Tanzania) just to name a few.

Lafonte Intimacy is a lingerie mobile store selling exquisite and intimate products. The owner of the business who goes by the name of ek is ellen van oor, said “I was inspired by my passion for elegance to start this business, I want to share my experience with other women on how to spark their romantic lives and feel confident in their own body.

The Eats is a unique concept all about giving back to the needy. They are a charity organization that sells fast food and give use the profits for uplifting the needy. They have a vision of helping those in need to have an inclusive and harmonious life within society. The Loxion Flavour Market is a great initiative which embodies the African notion of collectivism.
