It was a food affair at the fourth annual Tshwane Food Fest at Pretoria Botanical Gardens, Silverton over the weekend. The food fest has become popular amongst Pretorians and has earned its spot as the one of the most attended events on the calendar attracting people as far as Botswana. Pako and Thuto from Botswana said that the experience was amazing.
Thuto said “it is my first time here, and I will admit that I enjoy the ambience and exploring the different food and finally meeting people who speak the famous Pitori language”. Pako also added that he was also fascinated by the language and being surrounded by the people who speak it, has reignited his love for the language and culture of the people in Pretoria.
Also a first attendee, Wagile from Mamelodi said she was happy to finally experience the fest that everyone has been talking about. Attendees were treated to live broadcast of both the Rugby World Cup and Soweto Derby. Also spotted at the event were Lazy Makoti and The FunnyChef. Headliners included The Muffinz, Samthing Soweto, DBN Gogo and of course what would an event be without Kabza The Small who had everyone on their feet.
The event is a haven for food lovers and different stalls were on display for attendants to try out during the course of the event. Home Coming Events lived up to their reputation by hosting yet again an event that appeal to masses. The VIP area was spoilt to a variety of dishes served at random intervals. Pitori has proved itself yet again as the place to be when looking to have fun.
We surely can’t wait for the next Food Fest next year as the organizers promised it will be bigger and better. If there’s one thing everyone who came to the event can attest to is that they had fun. The event was packed with various activities that kept attendants busy throughout the course of the day.
