WATER COMPANY ON THE RISE.

Tshedza Pure Water is a business owned by Lesley Thavhana (32) from Soshanguve, Marikana M1. As the name explains itself, this business deals with water purification and branding. Lesley states that his focus is more on growing his own brand. He has partnered with a few local stores which sell his water and branded juice. The entrepreneur also does event catering and uses it as an opportunity to provide his products to quench thirsts.

The business started in November 2019; Lesley works with his wife Antonatte. “The only way to keep the business running is through the Lord who strengthens me.” He said. Knowing very well that hard work pays off, and having friends in the same business as him, things have been running smoothly ever since Tshedza Pure Water was established.

Looking at his short-term goals, Lesley plans to expand his business to Mabopane. He told Tsa Pitori that one of his biggest motivations is his friend Mashudu, who owns Tivha Pure Water, together with his wife at Brits. “The lack of jobs in the country wakes me up every day so I can work hard and expand the business.” He said. Lesley sees his company growing to be compatible with other big water purification companies.

As we are all witnessing the chaos and disruption Covid-19 has on the economy and millions of businesses in the world, even small businesses such as Tshedza Pure Water suffer. Even though there are hiccups here and there, Lesley is using the lockdown period to come up with ideas and more creative ways to keep the business running. “The Lockdown has affected the business big time because I cannot buy nor sell my products.” He adds.

Growing up, life was pretty normal for Lesley. Born in Venda, Dzanani Musanda, being the last born from a family of three. He grew up with one of his brothers, Justice. He later moved to Germiston, where he lived with his mother. He lives up to his words in the way he runs the business. “Never fake what is real.” He said.
