Karabo Chauke (33), is the founder and owner of Monandi Pizza servicing the community of Mabopane, Klipgat, Odi, Soshanguve and other southern parts of the capital. The business emerged right in the middle of the pandemic corona virus. Karabo saw an opportunity to give his dreams as an entrepreneur a chance. The birth of the new Pizza food business is a brain child of the former Lion Match Employee. The business was established in June 2020.

Karabo states that he first tried out his sample with his family, they advised him that his work needed to be tasted by more people. “The review from my family motivated and pushed me to take the idea to the next level.” He said. He then started making the pizza from home and delivered to nearby places. “Every time I delivered the pizza, I would ask the customer to take a photo with it.” He added. This was one of his marketing strategies. Within a month, Monandi pizza had already sold to over 150 people through home orders and delivery only.

Based on the stats and records he has kept, a large portion of Monandi Pizza’s customers come from Mabopane, Soshanguve and Slovo. Karabo also mentioned that part of his plan for the business is to expand to other places around Pretoria, and possibly launch the first local pizza restaurant in one of the local shopping centres. “I am working closely with my marketing team, and we are planning to expand the business in order to serve more customers.” He added. #ladi_jaja?
