18-year-old Oratile Luvuno is aiming high in the world of music. Luvuno, popularly known by his stage name, Deej Ratiiey he is mostly known for his drum and base music (King of Maplanka). His stage name derives from his birth name. Born and bred in Mabopane, the self-taught producer is also a former producer or of a group called Ubuntu Brothers.
His growing music career saw him inspired to invest in his sound and try to make a better vision of music.“That is when I embarked on my first hit track called Main Fault which made waves and reached a lot of ears” Deej Ratiiey said. He has worked with the likes of Zing Master, Welle SA, Caltonic SA, DJ Sushi, Rushky, D’musiq (Gem Valley Musiq, Unlimited Soul, Native soul, to name a few.
The young music artist said that his love for music started ara young age and continued working hard on his music. He released his debut EP namely K.O.A early in January 2020 and he said it was warmly received by his supporters throughout the country and neibouring countries, then later in February 2020 he started getting invited by radio presenters to play in their radio shows. “I recently dropped my debut album called Amaya Album which is giving me more exposure in the music industry,” he stated.
After releasing his 4th Episode of his K.O.A series he ended up being on the top 3 at Apple Music in late July competing with the likes of Heavy K and Master KG. The young artist is not only a music lover but he is also running an NGO called B.J Foundation. “My organization helps grade 10-12 learners with academics on major subjects such as History, Mathematics Literacy, English, Geography and Life Sciences and also help with University applications and application fees to grade 12 learners,” Deej Ratiiey said.
